Roadside Recovery Tour

Miss Quincy’s newly released album, “Roadside Recovery” was recorded the day after our 6 week 2013 European tour and is fondly referred to as The Jetlag Sessions. Produced by Matt Rogers from Harpoonist and the Axe Murderer the record features special guests including Dawn Pemberton and John Rayham as well as Sheri Rae on standup bass and myself on drums.  We will be hitting up all our favorite towns from Victoria to Winnipeg, playing 19 shows in 24 days. The current Showdown lineup includes Jessie Robertson – bass and Christie Rose- vocals and keys.

Miss Quincy Summer Tour

Miss Quincy Tour Poster

I just can’t get enough of these lovely folk, so here I am hitting the road with them again. We just spent 7 weeks on tour in Europe and then recorded an entire album in Vancouver in a jetlag fever… and now it is time to hit up all the summer festivals. Can’t wait to bathe in the BC lakes and rivers and sleep in Quincy’s 1974 Trillium trailer and hang out backstage with all the talented musicians at these dear Canadian music festivals.

Life is good!

Check out this fun interview I did with Nuba featuring the people on their team.

I have enjoyed programming music at the Kits location every Thursday. Delicious healthy food, sweet servers, beautiful location and some of Vancouver’s most talented musicians playing their songs for you.

Live music every Thursday from 7-9:30 including artists Bill Coon, Gordie Grdina and Cris Derksen.

Welcome to Joy on Drums!

Joy_AshleeLuk_1

Welcome to my new website! Here I’ve assembled the best of the musical and promotions projects I’ve had the opportunity to be a part of over the last number of years, and I will continue to update the site with future events and endeavors.

2013 is going to be a busy year – including a European tour with Miss Quincy in the spring and appearances with e.s.l. at numerous summer festivals.

Big thanks to Ashlee Lúk for the photographs featured on the home page slideshow and to Carmen at Pink Kloud for designing the site and logo. It was a pleasure working with both of these talented folks.
